Her Majesty's Theatre is currently undertaking a substantial redevelopment and expansion project. The redevelopment will grow the theatre's capacity from 970 to around 1,500, making it an attractive venue for a range of shows but particularly long running musicals. A stylish fusion of modern architecture whilst still maintaining the integrity of the original heritage design, the theatre will be re-opened in 2020.
Her Majesty's Theatre was built in 1913 and originally called the Tivoli.
The 'new' Tivoli Theatre opened 6 September 1913, and in its 100 years of operation has hosted many a guest, including the likes of Lauren Bacall, WC Fields, Whoopi Goldberg, Spike Milligan, Rowan Atkinson, Dame Judi Dench, Ronnie Corbett and Angela Lansbury.
The Theatre's box office and bar will open 45 minutes prior to performances.
