SLOW MOON is a new Maori Contemporary Dance collaboration work inspired on Dr Rangi Matamua's research into the revitalisation of the Maramataka Maori or Maori Lunar Calendar.
SLOW MOON is danced by 6 female performers. 3 from Aotearoa and 3 from South Korea.
A Maori/Korean lead creative team will collaborate to develop both a 60 minute movement score and an original live 60 minute soundscape.
2 musicians from Aotearoa will collaborate with 2 musicians from South Korea to create an original soundscore.
Projected images of Natasha Keatings Moon series will be incorporated into the set design supported by costumes by weaver Ruth Woodbury and Tohunga Tui Matira Ranapiri - Ransfield.
Danced by Louise Potiki Bryant, Justine Hohaia and Bianca Hyslop with three additional dancers from Chang Mu Dance Company, South Korea.
