Modern Māori Quartet: Two Worlds (Auckland, New Zealand)

1 Apr 2019 - 31 Mar 2021

Short Synopsis

There are two sides to every story.  And every story has a song.

Aotearoa’s favourite showband Modern Māori Quartet (MMQ) is back with a brand new musical theatre work five years in the making.

Two Worlds brings about a timely return to MMQ’s theatrical beginnings with a story full of heart and revelation.  With signature style and humour Two Worlds weaves together four stories that unfold the fabric of Māori musical culture and its genealogy and evolution.

Layering an earnest narrative to their soaring harmonies and classic quirky charm, the award-winning MMQ invite you to experience their take on what it really means to be Māori in this day and age.
