Short Synopsis

Do you still feel like you’re 25 even though your birthdate stubbornly insists you’re not? Are you enquiring about Botox ‘for a friend’? Do you wonder how it’s possible adults were born in the 1990’s?! This hilarious cabaret show from Amity Dry has been a five star success in the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals and has been lauded by audiences and critics as the perfect Girls Night Out. So if you remember when fringe perms and ra-ra skirts were cool and occasionally get a shock when you catch your own reflection come and laugh (and cry) with Amity as she explores the pressure to stay forever young and asks whether 40 really is the new 30 – or only with the right Instagram filter!

‘A sparkling, enthralling, fun, laugh out loud night of cabaret and song...She has the audience roaring with laughter from her anecdotes and witty observations, which she combines with her strong and enchanting voice…such positive energy, enlightenment and charm that you will leave the show feeling uplifted and empowered." Theatre People (5 Stars)

‘Dry’s vocal performance is impressive enough on its own to warrant the cost of entry. She has a natural knack for belting a power ballad, but still shines as a storyteller. ' Beat Magazine (4 Stars)

‘In one for the girls, clever comedic songstress and thoroughly charming Amity Dry traverses life from childish dreams of being “old”, to the reality of being 30-something. Grab your bubbles and work it into a night out with the girls.’ The Advertiser

39 Forever already has tour dates in Victoria booked for mid 2019 and is looking for further dates to program. It is also available for one off Buy Now shows.

'Dry channels the insecurities that afflict most women thanks to body consciousness, the pressure to be pretty and the costs of Botoxing your way to beauty. She’s careful, though, to balance message with mirth and to keep the laughs coming.’ Herald Sun

'Dry takes you from laughter to tears and back again and by the end of the night you will be up singing and dancing along.' Broadway World

'Disarmingly honest storytelling, wit, and the sort of soundtrack you’d expect from a gal born in 1978.' The Adelaide Show (5 Stars)

'For those of you who only think of The Blockwhen you hear the name Amity Dry, you are sadly missing out; for there is so much more to this sparkling little pocket rocket of talent.' Glam Adelaide (5 Stars)
