Music Theatre Australia & Creative Universe manage, creates and produce a range of accessible and innovative productions for Australian and international venues, festivals and events. MTA also books many of Australia's most talented performers and groups and provides entertainment production services and event management for concerts, corporate and special events, conferences, public festivals & venues.
The company works in a wide range of genres including opera, music theatre, comedy, circus, cabaret, music and much more in traditional and non-traditional venues, festivals and special events.
MTA manages superb Australian group Pot-Pourri (named BT Event Entertainers of the Year) and a number of other exclusive performers. Pot-Pourri has toured overseas on more than 40 occasions and released 6 CDs.
Music Theatre Australia has emerged as one of the most sought after cultural organisations in Australia and now produces and creates over 300 performances each year to around 250,000 people in the public, government and corporate sectors, as well as managing a number of Australia's most talented artists, groups and companies. MTA has organised over 60 overseas tours and engagements through all major continents and numerous performances and tours throughout capital cities and regional Australia. MTA was formed out of the groundbreaking success of the sensational singing group Pot-Pourri in 1996. MTA has developed strong relationships with, and expert knowledge of, the work of many Australian artists, arts companies and expert suppliers, as well as unique success in the field of corporate entertainment.
MTA understands how to make the arts and culture relevant and accessible to a diverse audience. Our team thoroughly researches the objectives of each event so that the performances presented are relevant, inspiring and entertaining and transcend all boundaries of background, age, nationality and culture. This is particularly relevant to large events and international conferences where MTA has provided and presented a range of artistic and entertaining packages and major productions to huge ovations and positive feedback both in Australia and internationally. These performances, which combine high quality artistry, humour and diversity transport the audience into a positive, open and uplifted mood and create a positive image of Australia and its acceptance of other cultures.
MTA is able to offer a unique package of creativity, commitment, expertise and personal attention to every detail. MTA's Founder and Artistic Director, Tania de Jong AM is a leading Australian soprano and social entrepreneur. She founded Creativity Australia and Creative Universe to improve wellbeing, engagement and innovation in organisations and communities. She has a Bachelor of Law (Honours) from the University of Melbourne and is a graduate of Victorian College of the Arts. Her numerous awards include Ernst and Young Australian Social Entrepreneur of the Year as Founder of The Song Room.
She was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2008 and named Brainlink Woman of Achievement in 2009. Tania consults to multinational organizations on creative leadership and innovation, works with a range of migrants and disadvantaged communities to build social capital and performs nationally and internationally with her group Pot-Pourri and event production company Music Theatre Australia. She presents keynote speeches in Australia and internationally for a diverse range of conferences and events. She is Founder and Executive Producer of Creative Innovation 2010 and 2011.
