NO Productions Theatre Company
NO Productions Theatre is an independent theatre company founded by Nataliya Oryshchuk in 2012 in Christchurch, New Zealand. It regularly stages original theatre works at various venues in post-earthquake Christchurch. Atmospheric and evocative, our productions bring a very distinct artistic flavour to the city's theatre scene. We produce high-quality small-scale shows experimenting with different modes of story-telling, and offering a unique chance for artistic professional development. The company's ambition is to diversify the Christchurch arts scene whilst bringing together Canterbury theatre practitioners. We foster creativity, originality of expression and passion for the theatre.
Core members currently include Nataliya Oryshchuk, David Allen and Michael Adams. Originally from the Ukraine, Nataliya is a graduate from the Kiev State Institute of Theatre Arts. She is a producer, playwright, director and actor who has been performing in New Zealand since 2010, and has featured in the Dunedin Fringe Festival, the New Zealand Fringe Festival in Wellington and the World Buskers Festival. In 2018 she completed a Master in Creative Writing degree (Massey University), and won the first prize in the Playwrights Association of New Zealand One-act playwriting competition.
David Allen is a graduate of NASDA (National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Arts), and is a highly versatile and skillful actor with fifteen years of professional experience performing throughout New Zealand. After training, he toured and performed with the Red Rose Dinner Theatre, Imagine Theatre, Ben McDonald Productions, and other professional theatres, including the Court theatre.
