- Waiting for Godot
Sport for Jove Theatre is a professional company working both in significant regional and inner-city Sydney venues.
As the company behind The Sydney Hills Shakespeare in the Park, The Leura Shakespeare Festival and the multi-award winning 2011 production of The Libertine, Sport for Jove has built a reputation for theatre that is imaginative, accessible & passionate.
The brain child of Artistic Director Damien Ryan, Sport for Jove seeks to develop new artists by marrying the inventiveness of young theatre professionals with the expert knowledge of seasoned practitioners in the tradition of repertory theatre.
Since it's inception in 2009, Sport for Jove Theatre has presented 7 seasons of outdoor Shakespeare of 5 plays in 5 venues, including the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. The company was nominated for 6 Awards at the Sydney Theatre Awards 2011, winning Best Independent Production, Actor (Anthony Gooley) and Actress (Danielle King), as well as Time Out Sydney’s People’s Choice for Best Play of 2011.
