The Art House Wyong Shire Performing Arts and Conference Centre is a 500 seat theatre and 130 retractable seat studio with exhibition foyer and bar/cafe and shop/information booth which opened in April 2016 in Wyong township.
The Art House offers a diversity of arts, entertainment and cultural opportunities, with the vision of providing a professional performing arts space on the Central Coast for local artists to showcase their talent and facilitate touring and commercial productions.
A diverse program of performing and contemporary arts and media as well as business and private functions consisting of venue hire and purchased productions. Arts program includes amateur and professional local and touring contemporary and traditional dance, drama, musical theatre, circus and physical theatre, multi-media, exhibitions, displays and forums.
Wyong/Tuggerah is part of Wyong Shire and a Regional Centre of the Central Coast NSW. Wyong town centre is the location of many of the area's civic services with a unique cultural and heritage character which Wyong Shire Council wishes to strengthen through creation of a cultural and civic precinct masterplan and a range of innovative developments inclduing The Art House. Wyong Shire combines stunning natural coastal and rural and bushland environmenst with a number of linked town centres located around a lakes system linked to the ocean by the well known holiday destination, The Entrance. Wyong Shire is earmarked as a growth area with a slogan: 'Alive With Potential' to reflect the aspiration for new investment and residential growth that maintains the unique environmental, cultural and social aspects of the area. The region's community values creative opursuits and is home to an exceptional high number of dance organistaions, artists and musicians. A committment by several local agencies and local government with the State Government means that the Coast is the base for new Creative Industry programs aiming to improve the local professional opportunities and national links for the creative community. Wyong Shire Coucnil has a high level of committment to the development of perfroming arts starting from its local traditional groups through to program, funding and venue incentives for new partnerships and innovative projects that will grow the creative sector into the future as a crucial part of the local quality of life.
