Festivals Australia | funding application due October

Festivals Australia funds high-quality arts and cultural heritage projects that invite community participation and audience engagement. Projects can include but are not limited to a parade, performance, workshop, installation or exhibition.

The aim is to give community members living in regional or remote Australia the chance to participate in or attend an arts experience at a festival, or a significant one-off community celebration.

Who can apply
Regional artists, arts workers, and organisations can apply for arts and cultural projects that encourage community participation and audience engagement from people living in regional and remote communities in a festival or community celebration.

When to apply
There are two funding rounds each year which generally close in March and October each year.

Queensland Touring Showcase

Showcase is designed to maximise opportunities for productions that meet the programming needs of Managed Venues. The event features a dynamic mix of production pitching and performance excerpt sessions, as well as time for planning and discussion between producers and presenters to create stronger, more meaningful touring outcomes.

Playing Australia: Regional Performing Arts Touring Fund | closing 2 October

02/10/2018

The Regional Performing Arts Touring program supports performing arts to reach regional and remote communities across Australia. Grants are available to support the net touring costs associated with a national tour. There is no limit on the amount that can be requested.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to speak with an Australia Council Grants Officer before applying to this fund.

Closing Date: Tuesday 2 October for projects starting 1 January 2019

Queensland Touring Showcase is an important annual event for artists, producers, presenters, venues and key industry players across the Queensland touring network to come together and exchange ideas, discuss new opportunities, plan and collaborate.

ACT & NSW | SALON

For  NSW artists, producers and presenters, regional and metro, to connect and build relationships across the state. Arts on Tour in partnership with the NSW & ACT Performing Arts Centres Association (NAPACA).

SALON is a platform for Pecha Kucha-style pitches from artists and producers to facilitate connections with NAPACA members around work.

Artstate is a four-year project by Regional Arts NSW to shine a light on excellence in regional arts practice and to explore the exciting possibilities for arts and cultural development across the state. Over the period we will be partnering with our network of Regional Arts Development Organisations to bring a stimulating program of regional, national and international speakers to share their experiences and knowledge. A curated arts program will provide an unprecedented opportunity to see the best the regional NSW has to offer.

PANNZ Arts Market

PANNZ's flagship initiative is the New Zealand Performing Arts Market. PANNZ is New Zealand’s sole marketplace for the promotion of professional tour-ready performing arts.  The Market is attended by festival directors, venue managers, artists, producers, touring agencies and industry stakeholders, including a growing number of international arts presenters. It is a vital forum for connecting local and international arts professionals, and emerging artists and producers.

As well as the promotion of NZ work, the Market also provides a unique opportunity to discuss the issues facing the arts industry and for capability building within the sector.

Applications to pitch: open in August.

Showcase Victoria

Showcase Victoria is the performing arts marketplace – an annual event which provides a unique platform for producers, artists and theatre-makers to promote their work to a wide range of venues and programmers from Victoria and beyond and ultimately to facilitate touring.

Open to: Venues/programmers/presenters and producers/artists/theatre-makers. Also provides excellent professional development and networking opportunities for wider industry attendees. The focus is state based however Showcase Victoria is open to applicants and attendees from all over Australia.
